Pancake Tuesday

Before our Minocqua, WI concert this evening we were honored to attend the Pancake Supper at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church. (Depending on your religion and location, today is variously referred to as Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Tuesday, Pancake Day, Pacski Day, Sprengidagur, Fettisdagen, etc. etc. According to the Wikipedia entry on the subject, IHOP gave out free "short stacks" to customers all day.)

Reverend Wallace (on the right, note the sweatshirt: "Work For G-d. the retirement benefits are great.") made fantastic pancakes, and the entire community was very welcoming.

It's pretty easy to get the Claremont Trio excited about eating...

OK, three questions. Did they serve real maple syrup and, if so, from what state, or was it the fake stuff? How did it feel to play a concert after being weighed down by all those huge pancakes? And how did the concert go?
