Podcasts!

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston announced in a recent press release that it is launching free classical music podcasts on their website! This is very exciting news as this program features unreleased live performances from their concert series. So, of course, I am also promoting this as we are one of the featured artists on their podcasts! Ah, the joys of self-promotion. In seriousness, though, I think this is a wonderful thing for not only us artists but also for the fans and listeners out there. It can be very difficult to find classical music recordings , especially of live performances, but through the Internet, they can be readily available worldwide.

The actual press release from the Gardner Museum's website can be found here.

You can find our performance of Beethoven's "Ghost" Trio in the episode labeled "Concert 1".

I hope you enjoy the podcasts and please share this news with your friends!

Dear Donna,

I will look forward to listening to the podcasts. But PLEASE also make lots more CD's! Podcasts of live performances are terrific. But nothing beats CD's made by the Claremont Trio for the commercial market!

Listened to your Mendelssohn Piano Trio CD for the third time this afternoon. It is growing on me. I feel more attatched to the Beethoven Cycle because I heard you perform it live at the Gardner.

I don't have an ipod, and I want to second what Walter said about making more CDs. If I did have an ipod I would download your music and the performance of Seymour Parker ASAP.

Sell CDs/DVDs of your performances if there aren't any specific contractual restrictions with your current label--and pleeze pleeze copy protect them from file-sharers. Various technologies exist to do this so that the recording artists can once again take command of their royalties. You should be getting a cut from every single unit sold; i.e., creative marketing.

Dear histfan,

We're working on the CDs!

Just to let you know, one does not need an iPod to download podcasts or music from iTunes! You can still listen to the live performances from the Gardner Museum without an iPod!
