An Unusual Greeting

When we checked into the Silverhorn Motor Inn in Kellogg, Idaho, we were greeted by Zoe:

"Yes, well, Elaine is out back looking up your reservations. In the meantime, would you like some free popcorn and ice cream with your movies? The large selection is catalogued in those binders behind you."

Silverhorn Motor Inn is a very dog-friendly place indeed! And yes, it is true, free movies, popcorn AND ice cream (over 10 flavours)! Also, we were told free laundry available to guests, but we did not stay long enough to take advantage of this wonderful perk. If you are ever passing by, stay here!

Thank you! In August we will be driving from Boston to Seattle, Washington to hear a Wagner Ring cycle. We will be travelling with our Chocolate Lab and will defintely plan to stay at this superb sounding motel!

Did you pass through the small town of Stanley, Idaho? It is known to locals as one of the most beautiful areas in the state.

It seems that Mr. Zoe has done a remarkable job managing this Inn into a home-away-from-home, featuring amenities to accomodate both 4-legged & 2-legged creatures alike. You can tell from his austere stance that Zoe takes great pride in his Ice Cream variety and family-friendly movie collection. Zoe has proven to be an entrpreneurial canine in these troubled times.

This is Paul Harvey...good day!
