Scream til Daddy Stops

Some aggressive (downright sadistic) waterpark advertising we spotted off of US-50 west of Canon City, CO. We were on our way to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park (http://www.royalgorgebridge.com/), a dramatic rock formation with an impressive suspension bridge over it. (For those wondering, nobody screamed, Ryan did not stop.)

After enjoying the gorge and surrounding area, we drove up to Loveland, CO, site of this evening's concert.

That drive (straight through Denver) left us pretty much paralleling the Rocky Mountains to the west.

I love this part of the country, where there are roads and stores and traffic lights like everywhere else, but all of that normal stuff is set against a backdrop of mountains on the horizon.

Great photos! So, who decides on the side trips, like the one to the Royal Gorge. Does Ryan have an itinerary planned, or do random members of the trio make suggestions?
Did Rodney show up at your Loveland concert? I think he lives there...

Pretty neat mountains! Does the change in temperature and altitude seem to affect Julie's and Emily's cello and violin?

Claremont tours are definitely consensus based. Every decision involves (perhaps excessive amounts of) discussion with all involved parties. (Same goes for rehearsals ;-) ) After all of our performing, rehearsing, and driving, we don't have much time left for side trips, but with all of the cool places we're passing through, it'd be a shame not to make the most of the time we do have.

No Rodney sightings so far, but we did meet an audience member in Loveland who knows the Albers family (more Suzuki, Encore, Juilliard, NYC buddies of ours).
