US State Trivia - ANSWERS
Last month I posted some US State Trivia up here. Thanks for your responses! For those of you still wondering:
1. Name 4 states with panhandles. (There are apparently 9 in total, including 1 which has 2!)
According to Wikipedia, Alaska, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas each have one panhandle. West Virginia has two.
2. Name the North Dakota city that rhymes with "Why not".
Minot, ND. I had always figured it was \ˈmī-nət\, but numerous locals proved me wrong.
3. Name the only 6 states we've never performed in. (Hint: that number will be down to 4 by March 5th.)
We just gave our North Carolina and New Hampshire debuts. The 4 remaining states are Delaware, West Virginia, Louisiana, and Nevada. Presenters in those states get priority booking for 09-10 ;-)

Wikipedia is the bomb, so to speak. Teachers and academics dread reading its citations when written by students, but nothing else measures up to it in terms of entertainment, sports, popular culture & those dancing girls you see on TV (and shirtless guys, too, I'd suppose):-D

It is not scholarly, but it is USEFUL... and rigorous enough for my purposes here... and the source of that cute little map I couldn't resist grabbing :-)
I have an idea for Nevada. Apparently the casinos are really hurting in this down economy. Perhaps your management should contact them and suggest the Claremont Trio as some highbrow entertainment that may attract a classier clientele.
