Town names

I suppose it was hard to come up with unique names for all the cities and towns in the United States. Probably that's why there are so many repeats of popular names - i.e. Manhattan, KS, Minneapolis, KS, Syracuse, KS, and El Dorado, KS. But we also discovered some creative town names in Kansas such as Liberal, KS, Ransom, KS, and my personal favorite: Peculiar, KS. I wonder what it's like there....?

Julie,

You ought to ask the Claremont's management to get you guys a gig in Peculiar, Kansas, even if the fee isn't terrific. Just imagine how great it would look publicity-wise if you could tout a newspaper headline that read--"Claremont Trio Plays Peculiar". I bet that that's a headline that neither the Eroica nor the Ahn Trios could compete against!

Unique to the midwest is how they report the weather; in that monotone recital of towns and counties. There must be a lot of bandwidth available on the AM, FM or SW dial for broadcasters to do their own thing, preferably with a mobile setup(never ground)--not that such pirate broadcasting should be encouraged, but imagine if someone started playing modern chamber music sporadically (yours, Ahn, Concertante, Biava Q etc;)/...

You are amazing and extremely talented!

I think it's Peculiar, Missouri though.

You're right - apologies! It's Peculiar, Missouri, not Kansas! Peculiar falls fairly close to the border and apparently I missed the sign announcing that we were entering Missouri....
