International Woodwind Festival in Boston!

Currently, I am sitting in the library at Boston Conservatory, enjoying the air conditioning and catching up on e-mails. I am taking a break from rehearsing and practicing -- lots of that to do around here! We are the 2007 ensemble-in-residence at the International Woodwind Festival, which is held at the Boston Conservatory. We are collaborating with other members of the faculty in wonderful works, including Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, Bartok's Contrasts and Brahms' Trio for clarinet, cello and piano. Also, we will work with some students in masterclasses! In addition, we will also perform a concert featuring just the trio next week at 8pm on Wednesday, June 6. Whew! They're keeping us busy here!

I am expecting more detailed information about these upcoming concerts to be available on our website schedule page soon but in the meantime, let me share with you the details of our first performance at the Festival:

Friday, June 1, 2007 at 8pm in Seully Hall at the Boston Conservatory
8 The Fenway, Boston, MA

Clarinetist Jonathan Cohler and Claremont Trio

Trio in A minor, Op. 114 Brahms

Quatuor pour la fin du Temps ("Quartet for the End of Time") Messiaen

These are wonderful and amazing works! We hope to see you soon! There is more information available at http://iwwf.org

Any & All work is good, Donna. In conducting masterclasses, it gives the Trio another demographic to build upon for attendance at future recitals. If y'all don't crossover into folk venues, then you'll need the influx of a younger audience to keep an interest alive after the elderly pass on to the great symphony in the sky. With no digital receiver and classical WCRB being moved on the FM dial...I'm dyin' here!!

Am frustrated. the iwwf site is down. Could not find any info about the concerts on the BC site. Waited 20 minutes on the reservation line. So I'll give up on tonight's concert. Any suggestions for better luck getting info and a ticket for Saturday night's concert? Will it just be the three of you? How much will it cost? What music will you perform?

On a happier note, I have your new CD in my bag and am about to listen to it. I'm certain that it will be great

histfan,

So sorry about the dysfunctional website! I'll point it out to the right people tomorrow and hopefully they will fix it soon.

Too bad about missing tonight's concert. Saturday's concert will showcase the faculty and students at this festival. We (the trio) will perform just a movement of Paul Schoenfield's Cafe Music on the program, but there will be many other entertaining clarinet works that night! You will not need advance tickets; just show up shortly before 8pm at Seully Hall on the 4th floor of The Boston Conservatory (8 The Fenway) and you will be able to get in. Tickets are $15 each.

We hope to see you soon. Enjoy the CD! Let us know what you think.
