Collaborations

I'm back! I realize it has been a while since my last post, but what can I say? Emily's wedding was such a blast and we partied so hard that I needed the rest. :) Everything went beautifully and the bride was glowing with happiness on her big day.

I was sorting through all the photos on my computer recently and came across a couple of forgotten, but important photos.

The first photo is of us with our special guest violist, Ida Kavafian. Having collaborated with her in the past, it was wonderful to sit down with her again to play some beautiful music (Brahms' C minor Piano Quartet). We all went out to Bethlehem, PA to perform for the Chamber Music Society of Bethlehem. Often, when we collaborate with other artists, we only get a couple of rehearsals together, play the concert, and then hope our paths cross again. In this case, however, it was so nice to be able to work together again as we got to know one another even better!

The second photo (right) is of us with Jonathan Cohler. He is a wonderful clarinetist who, amongst many things, runs the International Woodwind Festival. It was held back in the beginning of June, where we were the ensemble-in-residence for two weeks. There, we learned many things about clarinets, clarinetists and clarinet repertoire! With Jonathan, we performed some of the most wonderful, powerful, and spiritual music, such as Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time. We hope to be able to collaborate with him again!

Adding a viola to any musical combination always improves the quality of the music, no?

Oh, Donna, you 3 ladies seem too reserved & urbane to party that hard--unless you started doing the worm on the dancefloor while the other couples played volleyball with the centerpiece. But that's highly unlikely!
There's finally a classical station serving Cape Cod & vacinity: WFCC (107.5 FM). Yeeea! I am so happy about WFCC, and my dead Black Cat is happy, too! I can feel it in my bones:-)/....
