Our New CD!

Some of you may have heard the news already, but we are releasing our newest CD, Beethoven & Ravel, on November 16th! We are really excited about this CD, and hope you will all have a chance to own a copy very soon.

We recorded the disc over a period of three days back in May at The Performing Arts Center at SUNY-Purchase with producer/engineer extraordinare, Adam Abeshouse. We did most of the grunt work in May but in August, Adam worked hard in our editing session to produce a beautiful disc!

Here is my setup in Adam's editing studio, score and pencil all ready to go. Oh, we can't forget the iPod:
Can you tell which piece that is?

Here is Adam, hard at work in front of his computers:

Stay tuned as we will be celebrating our CD release in a performance at Le Poisson Rouge on Monday, November 29th at 7:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm). Mark your calendars!

Homes away from Home

Being a touring musician means time away from our loved ones at home. But one consolation is that we make friends with great people all over the country. While in Chicago to perform at the Ravinia Festival, we caught up with Joan and Jack Wing, wonderful people who we'd met while cruising the Mediterranean a couple of years ago. They hosted us in their beautiful home and showed us around Evanston.

No discussion of wonderful hosts would be complete without mentioning Alice and Burt Saidel, our parents away from home in Dayton, OH. We caught up with them this month when we were in town to play on the Vanguard Concert series. It was great to see the beautiful things Burt's working on in his wood shop and to visit with their daughter, Debbie.

Of course nothing makes the Claremonters feel more at home than a plate of delicious home-made brownies, like this one that Alice made......
